Learn-as-you-go, in your own garden

The Potting Shed Sessions

Part lesson, part garden visit. Emelye comes to your garden and teaches you — hands in the soil — how to read, feed and shape the space you actually have. No lecture halls, no generic advice, just your garden and a lot of practical know-how.

And because it's an experience rather than a thing, it happens to make a genuinely lovely gift — for a birthday, a house-move, Mother's Day, or just because someone you love could use a reason to get outside.

Why learn this way

It's not really about the gardening

Well — it is. But it's also about slowing down, moving your body, and spending a couple of hours somewhere that isn't a screen.

Get stronger

Digging, lifting, kneeling, reaching — gardening is proper physical work. Sessions build the strength and movement to do it comfortably, taught by someone who trains people for a living.

Slow down

No rushing, no scrolling. Just you, the soil, and a specific, absorbing little task in front of you.

Get outside

Time outdoors and time with your hands in the earth does something good for you that's hard to get anywhere else.

Make something grow

There's a particular kind of satisfaction in watching something you planted and tended actually thrive.

How a session works

Simple, unhurried, and genuinely useful

01

You tell us the problem

A patchy lawn, a border that never thrives, or "I just don't know where to start" — all welcome.

02

Emelye walks your garden

Soil, light, drainage and what's already growing — read together, out loud, so you understand the "why".

03

You get hands-on

Pruning, potting, feeding or planting — done together, at your pace, with your own tools where possible.

04

You leave with a plan

A short written note of what you did, what to do next, and when — so the learning actually sticks.
